Looking to fill in ancestrial blanks - Roch Castle - built in the late 12th century by Adam de la Roche - built as a fortress due to fear of snakes - located in Pembrokeshire. Castle bought by Wm Walter of Trefran in 1600. It allegedly changed hands several times during Civil War. Lucy Walter, born at Roch castle in 1630, alleged mistress to CHarles II - mother of Duke of Monmouth. Information was received over 20 yrs ago by now deceased relative. Would like to verify & learn more about heritage.
I do have other info, but it's packed away (moving house). Hopefully others will be able to assist before next week. If not, I'll provide more info later.
