I tried to visit Featherstone Castle a few years back (1998). It is (was) privately owned, and when I tried to go in and have a look, I was turned away. I was permitted to take some photos from a distance, but that was all. There are a number of campsites in the area, but unfortunately I do not have any details.Let us know if you manage to get inside, and if so, I would love to see some of the photos. I found this website, which shows the place is open to the public. Try calling to see if you can go and visit. http://users.ox.ac.uk/~crispin/fc2004/
