Author Topic:   Oghery Castle gemgem Member posted 05-31-2005 04:16 AM             Hello, my name is Gemma, and I am trying to find any information or pictures and history on Oghery Castle of Galway ireland.. any leads would be great.. many thanks Gemma Paul unregistered posted 06-01-2005 08:04 PM            Hello Gemma, I have searched all over the web for info on Oghery castle but I can't find anything about a specific castle. Oghery castle may just be an area of Galway where once a castle did exist but there is no trace of such a building today. I hope I am wrong but due to the lack of response from anyone else I fear I am not. On a small Island in Lake Ross, are the remains of footings of a later house, these are imposed on an earlier tower. Jonick O'Halloran held the site in 1574. Hope that gives you a starting point.
