Step 1: Get that foam poster board doesn't matter what color I would suggest a light color though.
Step 2: Draw what you want the castle to look like on a piece of paper.
Step 3: Cut up the poster board and glue them together with a hot glue gun.
Step 4: Make paper mache mix flour and water ( glue won't work) The tecnique the mache gives is a rough texture like dtone or brick. Anyway Cut up lots of long enough strips of newspaper dip them in the mache drape them over the castle walls and everything else.
Step 5: Wait for it to dry, then spray paint it whatever color you want and you've got your perfect model of a castle ( if you did it right ) It really works ! It always turns out perfect for me!
