Above the town Lendava lies The Castle. The first castle was built in the 12. century. Todays image of the castle is mainly from the end of the 17. century when Turks abadoned this area. Sela Mansion was built around 1762.The building served as a retreat for a Jesuit College in Trieste.Under private ownership the building's usage later changed.Currently it is owned by GIVO Real.Sela Mansion's main building is one of the finest examples of late-Baroque palaces in Slovenia.The exterior is embellished with 15 vertical window axes and 'rizalit' accents.The main entranceway comprises a stone portal with a spiral-shaped attic.In 1994 the building was declared a historical monument.
